Technique

Bottom-up, Worked flat, In the round (sleeves), Crochet (ties)

Construction

The Cardigan is worked seamlessly bottom up in one piece to the underarms. At the underarms, Fronts and Back are divided and worked separately to the shoulder. Then the shoulders are joined together. The Sleeves’ stitches are picked up from the armholes and worked in the round down to the cuffs. At the end, the front ties and edge are worked with a crochet hook.

• To be worn with up to 15-20 cm / 6-8” positive ease.

Recommended Yarn

• Drops Kid-Silk (75% Kid Mohair, 25% Silk; 200m/218 yds per 25g) – 8 (10, 12) balls (with 3 strands held together).
• Alternative Yarn:
• Drops Melody (71% Alpaca, 25% Wool; 140m/153 yds per 50g) – 4 (5, 6) balls.
• Katia Ingenua (78 % Mohair, 13 % Polyamide; 140m/153yds per 50g) – 6 (7, 8) balls (with 2 strands held together).

Required Tools

Circular Needles: 8mm/US 11 and 7mm (60 cm/ 24” length).

Gauge

12 sts * 15 rows = 10 cm/ 4” in St st, worked back and forth on 8 mm needles after blocking.
