Technique

Bottom-up, Worked flat, In the round (sleeves), Seamed shoulders

Construction

Cardigan is worked bottom up in one piece to the underarms. Fronts and Back are divided and worked separately to the shoulder. The shoulders are shaped with W&T short rows. The Sleeves’ stitches are picked up from the armholes and worked in the round down to the cuffs. Button Band stitches are picked up along the Right Front, Neck on the Back and down the Left Front, then worked flat in Rib 1×1.

Sizes

• 1 (2), S-M (M-L).
• Garment width: 65/91 cm.
• Bust Circumference: 82-90 (90-102) cm / 32.5-35.5 (35.5-40)’’
• To be worn with up to 30-40cm/ 12-16” positive ease.

Recommended Yarn

• Alize Mohair Classic (200 m/ 218 yds per 100g) – 5 (6) skeins. (The original pattern is worked with 2 strands held together).
• Alternative Yarn: Wool and the Gang Take Care Mohair, or any fluffy mohair yarn (at least 50% mohair) in approx. yardage 100m/ 109 yds per 100 g (500 – 600 g) to substitute.

Required Tools

Circular Needles: 10mm/ US 15, 9mm/ US 13, 8mm/ US 11 (80 cm/ 32” length).

Gauge

8 sts * 11 rows = 10 cm/ 4” in St st on 10 mm needles after blocking.
