Technique

Top-down, Seamless, Saddle Shoulder, Short rows, In the round

Construction

The Sweater Soft is an oversized sweater, which is worked seamlessly top-down in one piece with 2 raglan lines on the shoulders. The neckline is worked in the round, then the yoke starts with short rows. Once the short rows are finished, the yoke is joined for working in the round. The Sleeves are formed by increasing stitches. At underarm level the stitches for the Sleeves are put on hold and the rest of the pullover is finished in the round. Then the stitches for the Sleeves are picked up around the armhole and worked in the round down to the cuffs.

*You may choose to work neckline and cuffs either in Rib 2*2 or in Lace Rib.

• Bust Circumference: 82-89 (90-97, 98-107) cm / 32.5-35 (35.5-38, 38.5-42)’’
• To be worn with up to 20-25 cm/ 8-10” positive ease.

Recommended Yarn

• Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk (140 m/ per 25 g) – 8 (10, 12) skeins (worked with 2 strands held together).
• Drops Melody (140 m per 50 g) – 4 (5, 6) skeins.
• Gazzal Super Kid Mohair (237 m per 25 g) – 7 (8, 10) skeins (worked with 3 strands held together).
• Drops Kid-Silk (210 m/ 230 yds per 25 g) – 10 (12, 14) skeins (worked with 4 strands held together).

Required Tools

Circular Needles: 7mm, 6mm (40cm/ 16” length AND 80cm/ 32” length).

Gauge

11 sts * 17 rows = 10 cm/ 4” in St st on 7 mm needles after blocking.
