Technique

Bottom-up, Worked flat, German Short Rows, Seamed shoulders

Construction

The vest is worked back and forth, bottom up in one piece to the underarms. In the beginning, the bottom of the fronts is worked with German Short Rows. Then fronts and back are worked in full rows to the underarms. At the underarms, fronts and back are divided and worked back and forth separately to the shoulder. The vest is finished by joining the shoulders and attaching hooks and eye clasps.

• Bust Circumference: 82-89 (90-97, 98-107) cm / 32.5-35 (35.5-38, 38.5-42)’’.
• To be worn with up to 5-10 cm / 2 – 4” positive ease.
• Width: 47 (53, 58) cm / 18.5 (21, 22.75)”.

Original Yarn:

• Drops Paris (100% Cotton, 75 m/ 82 yds per 50 g) – 4.5 (5, 5.5) balls.

Alternative Yarn:

• Lana Grossa Riccio (110 m per 50 g) – 2.5 (3, 3.5) balls.
• Lana Grossa Basta (100 m per 50 g) – 4 (4.5, 5) balls.
• Yarn Art Creative (85 m per 50 g) – 4.5 (5, 5.5) balls.
• Mafil Agadir (162 m per 50 g) with 2 strands held together – 4.5 (5, 5.5) balls.

Required Tools

• US 4/ 3.5 mm circular needles (60 cm/ 24” length).
• US 7/ 4.5 mm circular needles (60 cm/ 24” length).

Gauge

17 sts * 22 rows = 10 cm/ 4” in St st, worked back and forth on 4.5 mm needles after blocking.
